구수한 된장찌개와 새콤하고 깔끔한 김치깍두기 그 따끈한 우거지국이고 싶다. 또한 해질녘 밥 짓는 아낙네의 피어오르는 연기 속에서 아련한 고향의 정취를 만끽하고 싶다.
정서가 메마른 현대인에게 풋풋한 향수에 대한 그리움이나 정념은 생각할 수 록 절실하게 다가오는 우리 모두의 그 무엇인 까닭에 내 그림은 우리다운 맛과 멋을 결코 외면하지 않기를 바랄 따름이다.

고향유정, 향토시심, 隣(Rhin-곡선공동체의 미)로 이어지는 나의 회화세계는 작화作畵의 기본이 되는 조형언어인 곡선화법을 창출하므로서 새로운 이정을 열게됐다.
린(隣-Rhin)의 곡선화법曲線畵法은 곡선미曲線美의 조화이다. 그 바탕이 되는 隣(Rhin)은 수묵의 모더니즘 추구에 그 의미를 두고 있다. 따라서 린隣은 공동체 정신과 한국적 곡선미학이 접목된 새로운 형상화 작업을 시도한 한국성(Korean'ty) 창출에 그 목적이 있는 것이다. 또한 隣은(Rhin)은 원융한 것이어서 하나가 모두요, 모두가 하나 됨을 뜻하며 공동체문화의 근본이며 동시에 인간과 자연의 조화를 이뤄 이 시대의 화두인 <친환경> <더불어 살기>에 부합하는 걸 맞는 작업이라 할 수 있다.

To think of the teaty pot stew of doenjang (soy bean paste) and the clean, sourish kaktuki (pickled reddish) and the hot soup of ukeoji (outer leaves of cabbage)!
And would that I could once again taste the mood of my old home village, made of dusk, hasty evening smoke and women's preparing supper.
I earnestly desire that my paintings have our own savor and aroma, since nostalgia for them is indispensable for dull moderns.
